The gardening committee, chaired by Gail Wintersteiner, is in charge of beautification projects in and around Waban Square. This includes the plantings at the Waban Library, the T stop, in front of Starbucks, and on Beacon St. and consulting to the gardeners at Angier School. Activities include planting hardy perennials, weeding, mulching, and occasionally watering. In addition, there are several barrels in the square that need "adopting" by families each year. You can help by plugging into any - or all - of these activities. You DO NOT NEED A GREEN THUMB! Gail is happy to give hands-on demonstrations for relatively inexperienced gardeners on everything from weeding to deadheading, splitting perennials, pruning, or any other gardening topic of interest to Waban residents.
