PHOTO ALBUM 8 — from WABAN EARLY DAYS, by Isabel Strong

The photos in Isabel's book are reproduced terribly. Either the "Modern Press in Newton Centre" couldn't cut the mustard, or else WW 2 made quality printing difficult. The original pictures are all blurry, and of course they're not going to look any better on the computer screen. Still, if you squint carefully at your monitor, you can make out how beautiful Waban must have been before the 20th century struck....
