Waban Village Day 2010
Waban Village Day is right around the corner – May 23rd, 11am to 3pm. The Family Fun Run precedes Village Day at 10am. It is always a wonderful day with good food, interesting vendor tables, fun amusement rides, scholarship awards, live musical performances, and most importantly the company of friends and neighbors, both old and new! As always, we rely on the spirit of volunteers to make this day a reality. You all embody the spirit of this special neighborhood and we ask for your help. Some of you have volunteered in years past, and know how much fun it is! Others I may be reaching out to for the first time and would love to have you involved. An hour of your time would make a world of difference. We are seeking help in the following areas (see below). There is something for everyone – children and teenagers included! - Event Set-Up (help needed between 9-11am)
- Welcoming and directing vendors
- Some table set-up (physical labor involved)
- Stage Set-Up (help needed between 8-10am)
- Assembling performance stage (physical labor involved)
- Family Fun Run (help needed between 8-11)
- Setting up route
- Route marshals (directing runners)
- Registration table
- Grilling Station (help needed between 11-3)
- Taking orders, monies and making change
- Grilling food
- Fast-Pitch Baseball Game (help needed between 11-3)
- Assist participants, hand out prizes
- Clean-up
- General clean-up help needed from 3-4pm
